The Amgen Tour of California, the nation's largest cycling event, will end Sunday with the eighth and final stage winding from Santa Clarita to Thousand Oaks.
One of the best spots to catch a view of the 100-plus riders is McBean Parkway and Town Center Drive, as they prepare to start the 82.3-mile route, an Amgen spokeswoman said. | Click here to see Daily News photo gallery.
The official starting line is at Newhall Ranch Road and McBean Parkway, where riders will take off at 12:02 p.m. The race is expected to last about 3-1/2 hours.
Other good viewing spots will be at Balcom Canyon, where cyclers face a steep climb and will battle to be king of the mountain; or at Moorpark and Tierra Rejada roads, where they start a sprint to the end of the course.
The finish line lies on a stretch of Thousand Oaks Boulevard near Rancho Road. Riders are expected to reach the final stretch at 2:38 p.m.
On Sunday, Hillcrest Drive and Thousand Oaks Boulevard will be closed between Rancho Road and Conejo School Drive from noon until the race is completed.
