Lindsay Lohan got an early birthday present: Her freedom.

The actress is free to leave her house after serving just 35 days of home confinement at her Venice, Calif., townhouse for pleading no contest to misdemeanor necklace theft. She turns 25 July 2.

"She completed her home dentention today and she's now back under the supervision of the courts and probation," sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore tells PEOPLE.

Lohan was eligible for house arrest and was released early because she's a nonviolent offender and there are budgetary issues and jail overcrowding, Whitmore previously said. The method for calculating time behind bars also applies to home detainees. Her original sentence called for four months in jail.

The actress is expected to resume her community service hours at a downtown L.A. women's shelter, and has yet to begin her janitorial duty at the L.A. County morgue.

Lohan will also continue her court-ordered psychological counseling and must also complete a program called Shoplifters Alternative.

"She is very focused on resuming her community service obligation," says her rep.

She'll remain on probation ? stemming from her two DUI cases in 2007 ? for the next three years and is due for a progress review on July 21. Lohan is no longer subject to random drug and alcohol tests.
