Each week, Survivor host Jeff Probst answers a few questions about the most recent episode of Redemption Island.
Very close and tense house of cards duel between Mike, Matt, and David at Redemption Island. Why move from one-on-one duels before the merge to group duels post-merge?
It?s simply a numbers thing. In order to have enough people to get us through the majority of the season we end up having too many at the end, so we have to get rid of them!It made sense to increase the numbers post merge. One of the exciting benefits of having multiple people at Redemption is that it keeps more people in the game, all with a shot at the money. The final episode will have eight people still vying for a shot at winning.
Look who?s playing Tribal Council peacemaker! How long in real time did it take you to get Phillip and Steve to come to something of an understanding in terms of where they were both coming from with their comments? Tell us something about that whole process we did not see.
Last night?s tribal went on for quite a while as there was a lot to get through. Since I didn?t know anything about it, I had to spend a fair amount of time understanding exactly what happened. The next step was to make sure both Phillip and Steve got to explain their side of the story. I?m very aware that unless you have walked a mile in someone?s shoes, you cannot know their story, so we took a lot of time to understand both points of view.In the end I think both men felt heard and agreed that both of them could be living a truthful experience. The most exciting part of the dialogue was how much it captured the spirit of Survivor ? a group of strangers from different walks of life forced to live together.
Frankly, I would have been shocked if Rob had not won the puzzle challenge. At this point he has to be considered the best puzzle solver in Survivor history. Let?s say you have to pick one other current or former contestant to take him on in a puzzle. Whom would you pick and why?
There is no question in my mind that Rob is the single best contestant that has ever played Survivor.Nobody close. He is a triple threat. He can kick your ass physically, he?s a great strategist, and as you?re seeing this season, he is very good at the social game.If I had to pick one person to take him on in a puzzle challenge it would be Yul Kwon.Yul is an amazing player. An incredibly boring interview but a great player!
Teaser time! Give us a hint as to what we can we expect next week.
A twist at tribal council catches everybody off guard.
