Matt Bellamy and Kate Hudson have been dating for about a year
Kate Hudson has confirmed she is to marry Muse frontman Matt Bellamy.
The actress has appeared on US television wearing a huge sparkler on her third finger left hand.
'This is new!' Kate giggled as she showed off her ring to Today show host Matt Lauer. 'I'm engaged!
'It just happened a week ago.
'I haven't really announced it - I kind of feel like the announcing thing is so silly.'
Kate and Matt, both 32, are expecting their first child together this summer and, despite their betrothal, are in no hurry to get married.�
'He's a beautiful man and I'm very excited, but I think we're going to sit in to the baby thing for a little bit,' she said.
'[The proposal was] very sweet and very romantic.'
