LeAnn Rimes chops four inches off her hair

LeAnn Rimes said she loves her 'total new haircut' from famed hairstylist Chris McMillian.

LeAnn Rimes is getting rid of some excess baggage ? from her head.

Rimes, 28, left the Chris McMillan Salon in Beverly Hills on Saturday sporting a new short, layered hairstyle.

"Total new haircut! Love it!" the singer tweeted before expressing gratitude to her famed hairsylist.

"Thx my dear Chris McMillian for taking four inches off!" she wrote. "I'm a new woman!"

But the process wasn't easy. Rimes likened getting her hair colored to "pulling teeth."

"Not relaxing AT ALL for me!" she wrote. "I want a magic color wand and poof, done!"

The new 'do is already drawing comparisons to the look Jennifer Aniston debuted in February. And that's no coincidence:� Both actresses entrusted McMillian with their new locks.

McMillian is well-known for creating Aniston's most famous hairstyle, deemed the "Rachel," back when the actress was on the hit TV show "Friends."

Rimes' hair change comes just days after she and her rep denied rumors of a sex tape allegedly recorded several years ago with her now-ex-husband Dean Sheremet.

After marrying Eddie Cibrian in late April, it seems the songstress is truly ready for a fresh start.
