With celebrities like Jon Hamm, Alexa Chung and MTV News' very own star correspondent, supermodel Erin Wasson, sitting front row at Rag & Bone's fall 2011 fashion week show in New York, it was clear that Brits David Neville and Marcus Wainwright are the definition of downtown cool.

The designers held their show at a "lost space" in SoHo on Friday (instead of the tents at Lincoln Center), and combined Americana, British countryside comfort and gypsy cuts for cutting-edge looks.

"Fundamentally, Rag & Bone is really about our British past married to our New York present," Wainwright told Wasson backstage before the show kicked off, as stylists and a hair-and-makeup crew put the finishing touches on the models in a sea of fabric swatches and hairspray.

Combining heavy wools, shearling, leather, fur and lots of big, tartan prints, the latest from Rag & Bone played up the line's hipster-cool sensibilities. Knee-high boots, varsity jackets, as well as stripes in deep blues and oranges peppered the collection. The models were styled with loose braids and smoky eye makeup, playing up the homey feel. The collection was obviously made for the girl who spends her week in the city and weekends lounging by the fireplace at her country estate.

"When we do the show, you know, [adding] other things to that core aesthetic, it's fun to kind of twist it in different directions," Wainwright added, as his design partner stood by his side.
